Former Uefa President Michel Platini has been the victim of a burglary in which several trophies and medals from his villa were robbed in Cassis in southern French. This was reported by the French news agency “AFP”, citing a source close to the case.

The perpetrators, who found the 70-year-old Platini in the act on Friday morning, stole 20 trophies and medals. The investigation is underway.

Platini was President of the European Football Union (UEFA) from 2007 to 2015. In December 2015, the Ethics Committee of the World Association FIFA announced that Platini will be blocked for eight years and is not allowed to work in football. The lock was initially reduced to six years by the CAS sports court in 2016 and finally to four years.

In his active football career, the offensive midfielder won the Ballon D’Or (1983, 1984, 1985) and the European Cup of the national champions in 1985 with Juventus Turin. Platini completed 72 missions for the French Equipe Tricolore and led the team to the European Championship title in 1984.
