Ex-Sevilla professional Oussama Idrissi signs with Pachuca

After termination of contract in Seville

Oussama Idrissi is one of the most valuable players on the market without a club. The Moroccan international is joining Mexican first division club CF Pachuca. The left winger signed a two-year contract with the two-time CONCACAF Champions Cup winner, who has had a mixed start to the Liga MX Apertura and is in twelfth place after eight match days.

On Deadline Day, Idrissi terminated his contract with Sevilla FC, which was originally valid until 2025. For the LaLiga club, which paid AZ Alkmaar 12 million euros for the attacker’s services in 2020, Idrissi only played 17 games in which he contributed three assists. Last season, the Dutch-born striker was on loan at Feyenoord Rotterdam, where he stayed fit until the end – which led to a move to Mexico.

For a while, Idrissi’s return to Feyenoord seemed possible, but after the signings of Luka Ivanusec (24) and Ondrej Lingr (24), the Dutch champions no longer had any need for offense. Thereupon, according to the “Algemeen DagbladThe father of Feyenoord’s Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez (22) gave a tip to those responsible at Pachuca, who quickly took action.

Idrissi had a good year on loan at Feyenoord, in which he shuttled between the bench and starting eleven. In 38 games he was directly involved in 15 goals. At the beginning of October, Idrissi seriously injured his thigh muscles in the Europa League game against FC Midtjylland (2-2) and was out for weeks, meaning he missed the World Cup in Qatar.
