Ex-Schalke flirt traded at BVB

Even before the exciting championship fight against FC Bayern reaches its climax, BVB begins planning for the future. In the course of this, the Dortmunders allegedly became aware of an outside striker who was on the wish list at FC Schalke just a few months ago.

As Turkey ‘transfer expert’ Ekrem Konur claims, BVB are one of the clubs that have their eye on former Belgium youth international Manuel Benson. In addition to Dortmund, he also says Inter Milan and Olympique Marseille are interested in the 26-year-old winger.

Benson is currently under contract with English second division side FC Burnley. The Belgian only switched to the “Clarets” last summer. At this point, FC Schalke is said to have tried their luck. Ultimately, however, Benson decided against the Royal Blues and for a move to the English House of Commons.

It could have been a little better for the winger in his debut season, but it could also have gone a lot worse.

On the one hand, the newcomer was only in the starting XI in 13 games, but on the other hand, he was used in a total of 31 games. He not only scored ten goals, but also prepared three more goals. In the end, it was his performances that helped the “Clarets” rise to the Premier League.

BVB interested in second Burnley pro?

It is not known whether and on what terms the future Premier League club would part ways with Benson. However, his contract in Burnley runs until the summer of 2026. Accordingly, the club holds all the trumps in all transfer matters.

Benson isn’t the only Burnley pro associated with BVB. Just a few weeks ago, the “Sun” claimed that the Dortmund team was also watching the development of Anass Zaroury very closely. Like Benson, the 22-year-old is at home on the wing. However, he works on the left side there, his teammate on the right.
