The long -time president of Eintracht Frankfurt, Peter Fischer, is shocked by the behavior of some fans. But he also takes responsibility for the club management.

The move into the Champions League is less pleased with the former president of Eintracht Frankfurt, Peter Fischer, the behavior of the club and fans. The 69-year-old, who had a prostate operation a few months ago, described in an interview how he slowly moved away from the club he headed for 24 years.

“Before my time as President, I had a different fan awareness, now, afterwards, the same way,” he said the “picture”. He is still exciting, but with more distance. He pulls his hat off in front of coach Dino Topmöller. But what makes him angry are events outside the field.

“I am really incredibly shocked by the behavior of the so-called fans. If you have looked at what incredible comments there were in the week before the Freiburg game on social media,” he said and led expressions such as “dirty club”, “the failed” and “they are too stupid”. The critics also have fans from the Wilhelminian period of the fan and support department. These would have “experienced completely different times” in 30 years. “And they were suddenly disappointed because we may not reach the Champions League. Yes, people, where do we live?” He complains.

Fischer was the president with good relationships with the Ultras. These had been criticized, among other things, after the choreo for the “Böhse Onkelz”, a controversial rock group with a past in the right scene, and chaos in Bochum, as fans with banners, outputs. He noticed how far the harmony had slipped away from him in such things. “For me it is gone for me. I said at home to my family: ‘This is no longer my club, it can’t be true.'”

Fischer also takes the association management of Eintracht responsible. He would have torn down a controversial banner in three minutes and not just watched from the stands. He was also surprised that the process around the “Böhse Onkelz” choreo was approved at all. He received a lot of news that asked him what to do and could imagine being able to produce one or the other bridge. Fischer is also resigned: “This is no longer my field”.
