After firing shots at a man, Antonio Brown fled to Dubai. He has now been extradited to the USA and has to stand trial.

Antonio Brown is the focus of the US justice system. After an incident in May, the former NFL professional has now been extradited from Dubai to the United States. He is accused, among other things, of attempted murder and weapons abuse.

Miami police confirmed that Brown was arrested by US Marshals in Dubai and then taken to Essex County, New Jersey. Accordingly, the 37-year-old will soon be transferred to Miami, where he will be tried. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison.

The allegations are serious: After a celebrity boxing match on May 16 in Florida, Brown is said to have snatched the gun from a security guard and used it to shoot a man with whom he had previously had a physical altercation. According to the man concerned, one of the bullets grazed his neck.

The police initially arrested Brown, but released him after a short time. Shortly afterwards, he explained on Platform X that he had been the target of an attempted robbery. He announced that he would take legal action against the alleged perpetrators.

An official arrest warrant was finally issued on June 11th. His X profile said on Thursday that he had relinquished control of his social media channels for the duration of his legal battle.

Brown played in the NFL for twelve years – including for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At times he was one of the best pass receivers in the league and won the Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in 2020 alongside quarterback Tom Brady.
