At VfL Wolfsburg it was only a second choice. Now Merle is changing Frohms to a very big name in world football. A new competition is waiting there.

Merle Frohms will continue her career in Spain in the future. The former national goalkeeper changes from Wolfsburg to Spanish runner -up Real Madrid. The club confirmed the 30-year-old’s commitment on Monday.

In Madrid, Frohms meets a well -known teammate: Sara Däbritz now also plays for the “royal”. Frohms signed a contract until 2028. After its degradation to number two in spring – both at VfL and a year earlier in the national team – a change of club had already announced.

In the Bundesliga, Frohms previously stood in the goal for SC Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt. At Real, a competition with Spain’s national goalkeeper Misa Rodriguez is waiting. Ex-international Melanie Leupolz had recently ended her career there.
