Former Italian national football coach Luciano Spalletti takes over Juventus Turin.

Spalletti (66) succeeds Igor Tudor, who was released on Monday, and will receive a contract with the record champions until the end of the season. “We are very pleased to welcome such a competent and experienced personality into the Juventus family,” the club announced on Thursday evening.

The day before, Juve had ended a negative series of eight games without a win that lasted almost seven weeks with a 3-1 (1-1) win over Udinese Calcio. The Old Lady is currently only seventh in the table in Serie A.

The former Juve professional Tudor had to leave after four games without scoring and three consecutive competitive defeats. The Croatian was only in office for seven months. Spalletti terminated his contract as national coach five months ago. Spalletti last worked as a club coach in the 2022/23 season, when he led SSC Napoli to their first championship title in 33 years.
