After a false start to the season
Olympique Lyon got off to a bad start in the new Ligue 1 season and only got one point from four games. Coach Laurent Blanc is therefore heavily criticized and could soon have to vacate his post. How “L’Equipereports, American club owner John Textor is exploring the market and holding initial discussions with potential candidates, including ex-Frankfurt player Oliver Glasner.

However, Potter, without a club since leaving the Blues in April, has no intention of taking over a club in the near future. Textor also held initial negotiations with Glasner, which could intensify in the next few hours. The Austrian drew international attention especially with his victory in the 2022 Europa League.
Other contenders at Lyon, which lost players worth €141.3 million in the summer transfer window, include Castello Lukeba to RB Leipzig and Bradley Barcola to PSG, while new signings came with valuations of €86.25 million, according to “Sky Sports“Ex-Wolverhampton coach Julen Lopetegui and Lille’s Paulo Fonseca. In a comparison of the top 5 leagues in Europe, only Sevilla FC started in better form than OL.
