Former criminal lawyer Pol Vandemeulebroucke has been acquitted almost across the board by the Antwerp Court of Appeal. Pol Vandemeulebroucke was initially sentenced to 18 months in prison for leaking information to a drug gang. The court dismisses that accusation because the police have not handled the lawyer’s professional secrecy carelessly. The alleged gang leader Alain M. also goes free. He was initially sentenced to 10 years in prison.
