Eva Jinek denies salary construction, Boulevard doesn’t believe it

Eva Jinek can deny whatever she wants, but they don’t believe it at RTL Boulevard: they are convinced that the presenter is sneakily avoiding the NPO salary ceiling.

Many people find it difficult to believe: after all those years in which Eva Jinek earned 1.2 million euros per season at RTL 4, she is now returning to the NPO, where a salary ceiling of over €200,000 applies. And surely no one would voluntarily want to lose a million euros a year? There must have been something secretly agreed upon, critics think.

Disbelief about Eve

Now that Eva has almost left RTL 4 – her contract expires in three weeks – she is being dealt with harshly in RTL Boulevard. “Rob, do you suspect that Eva Jinek will earn more than the Balkenende standard and how?” Bridget Maasland asks colleague Rob Goossens, both of whom Eva previously accused of ‘dodgy work’.

Rob: “In all honesty: from the moment she made the switch. She has just had a child, bought a new house, she is still young. That is not the situation in which people say: ‘Come on, I’m going to do volunteer work at the NPO.’ Of course, the top salary there is also more than €200,000, but when you are used to so much, who would voluntarily take that step back?”

Salary constructions

For her new NPO show, Eva is not working with her previous producer PilotStudio, but with MediaLane from Joop van den Ende’s daughter. “There is only one reason to go to MediaLane and that is because it is the company of Iris van den Ende and secretly a bit of Joop van den Ende, and that is the king of salary structures.”

Rob continues: “They hire you and then you are theirs. He did that years ago, decades ago, with André van Duin for example. And then he hires you out. That can of course be a nice way.”

Two companies

What exactly does that mean? “You are actually employed by two companies; and at the producer and at the broadcaster. It’s not really allowed, but as long as everyone keeps their mouths shut, you won’t find out. Of course, the Tax Authorities will not tell us at our request how many paychecks Eva Jinek has received this month.”

Eva’s manager firmly denies: “There are no agreements between Eva and MediaLane and there is therefore no financial component.”

Strange story?

The AvroTros also denies, but Rob remains skeptical. “The question of who came up with the idea to work with MediaLane is not answered. I dare to put my hand in fire for that. That did come from Eva and not from the broadcaster, which is a bit strange.”

“It is a story about which some things still need to be clarified.”
