Only around 48 hours after losing the final of the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia, the Füchse Berlin handball players celebrated an important home win in the European League.

The handball Bundesliga team won on Tuesday evening in front of 4,319 spectators in the Max-Schmeling-Halle against the Romanian top team Dinamo Bucharest with 33:30 (16:11). The Foxes took the lead in Group G.

Foxes broke away before the break

The game initially started quite evenly, after a 0-1 deficit the hosts took the lead. The Berliners were very stable in defense and keeper Dejan Milosavljev shone with a few saves. And so they forced Dinamo to make mistakes again and again.

After a double time penalty against the guests, the Foxes were able to further pull away (14:10). And the Berliners used this momentum, especially since the Romanians’ cover revealed some gaps. The Foxes continued this trend immediately after the break and even pulled ahead by nine goals (25:16).

Afterwards the strength dwindled somewhat. Three seven-meter penalties were rejected, and in the 51st minute, circle player Mijajlo Marsenic was shown a red card after three time penalties. And coach Jaron Siewert rested almost all of the regulars. The Foxes managed to maintain their lead surprisingly easily over time.
