The introduction of the digital euro has come a step closer, according to European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis (Economy). After consultation with EU Finance Ministers at a press conference, he spoke of a “significant breakthrough” on Friday. The EU government leaders may take a final decision on the introduction at the end of this year, the European Commissioner said.
