European Championships: This is how Saturday goes in Munich

On the third day of competition, medals will be at stake in six of the day’s seven sports. Also present: Germany’s rowing eight.

rowing

On the Olympic course in Oberschleißheim, one of the highlights of the European Rowing Championships will take place from 1:36 p.m.: After eight European Championship triumphs in a row and only fourth place in 2021, the Germany eight is fighting to resume its successful series. A total of eleven medal decisions are made in the north of Munich.

Do gymnastics

Only one decision is made in gymnastics: from 2 p.m. it is about the title in the women’s team competition.

track bike

In an oval on the exhibition grounds in the east of Munich, track cyclists race against each other. From 5:58 p.m., viewers will experience a five-pack in the final. The decision in the one-on-one pursuit will be made at 6:22 p.m. Favourite: World and European Champion Lisa Brennauer. The Kempten native ends her career after the European Championships.

BMX Freestyle

It’s going to be spectacular on the Olympiaberg: at 7 p.m. the men’s BMX freestyle park competition is coming up. There are two rounds of one minute each, but only the best one counts.

Climb

There are two decisions to be made in sport climbing: from 4 p.m., first in the women’s lead. Lead is rope climbing, the most traditional discipline. Men’s bouldering begins at 5:30 p.m. Here you can climb to the jump height without a rope. Essen’s Yannick Flohé is one of the favorites.

Yannick Flohé is one of the promising candidates for sport climbing at the European Championships. The world championship third is experiencing the best year of his career so far in 2022.

triathlon

The men’s individual starts at 4 p.m.: In the Olympic distance there is a 1.5 km swim, 40 km on the bike, followed by a 10 km run.

table tennis

It’s just not about medals in table tennis. The artists with the small ball will contest the preliminary rounds in mixed and in both doubles from 10 a.m.
