Europe warns of early flu epidemic due to new virus variant: “Don’t wait to get vaccinated”

The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) warns of an unusually early start to the flu season. This year, flu cases are being detected three to four weeks earlier than normal, partly due to the emergence of a new variant. The ECDC calls on everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
