Etro redesigns store in Dubai

The store of the Italian luxury brand Etro in Dubai has a new look.

The concept of the store in the Dubai Mall has been completely revised, Etro announced on Monday. The store’s interior was designed by Rome-based design studio Thirtyone Design and Management.

The reopened store builds a bridge between tradition and modernity. Terracotta floors, limestone elements and tailor-made wallpaper in the brand’s typical paisley pattern characterize the ambience. The centerpiece is a spacious cherry wood shelf that showcases the brand’s bag collection. Light colored carpets and metal surfaces contrast with the rich wood tones. The paisley motif continues in the form of engravings both in the panels of the shop windows and on the door handles.

The 238 square meter sales area includes Etro collections for women’s and men’s clothing, accessories as well as eyewear and perfume collections and an open gallery. For the first time, space was created in one of the brand’s stores for selected works of art in order to provide a platform for young talents as well as established artists.

To mark the store’s reopening, Italian painter Cesare Berlingeri presented ‘Piegato Ral 2010’, a work belonging to the ‘Foldings’ series, for which canvases were colored and folded. With the work ‘Knotted, Blue Chunk’, the young Korean Kwangho Lee also demonstrated his talent by combining industrial materials with traditional weaving techniques. Some collector’s items curated by the Italian designer duo Draga and Aurel will also be shown.
