Ermenegildo Zegna Group relies on “Made in Italy”

The Italian fashion group Ermenegildo Zegna NV is expanding its production capacities in its home country. On Thursday, the company announced that it would build a new manufacturing facility for shoes and leather goods in Sala Baganza, near Parma.

The new factory will have an area of 12,500 square meters and, according to current plans, will be completed in December 2026, the company said. When full performance is achieved in 2027, more than 300 people will be employed there.

With the construction of the facility, which will primarily focus on the production of men’s shoes and leather goods, the group is responding to the increasing demand of its Zegna, Thom Browne and Tom Ford Fashion brands.

The company emphasized that the factory will also be “more than a production facility”. It will therefore serve as a research and development center as well as a training center for “a new generation of craftsmen” and help preserve the “uniqueness of ‘Made in Italy’” by teaching important traditional skills.
