Englishman says he was chased by AZ hooligans in the city: “You are not men”

An emotional English fan says in front of the NH camera that he was chased by hooligans yesterday in the center of Alkmaar. The West Ham United fan watched the match against AZ in the pub. Alkmaarders also respond to the riots. “For families who are there with children, it is not fun at all at the moment.”

At the station he, an English fan, is still wearing his scarf. “Twenty minutes before the end of the game, the hassle started,” he says. “Men dressed in black came after us.”

He therefore had to miss the end of the game, but managed to escape. Also a young lady who lives near the Stationsweg, where it was already the afternoon before the game got out of handspeaks out about the violence.

“Recently I went to an AZ match,” she tells NH. “It was all very pleasant then. Then you think: later I will also go here with my son. But yes, it is already the same here. A bit of a shame.”
