Although Eric dier had a good start at AS Monaco, England’s national coach Thomas Tuchel did not nominate him for the upcoming international matches. “It hurts every time. But hopefully I can change something,” said the 31 -year -old defender in an interview with the “Telegraph”. Furthermore, he spoke about the time at FC Bayern, praised Vincent Kompany in the highest tones and expressed the desire to return to the Three Lions.
“I don’t feel comfortable at all. Staying at 49 is a problem for me! (…) But I think I can manage, so I will try to leave this terrible 49 behind me,” commented his non-nomination, which stands for England in 49 games. “I spoke to his assistant Anthony Barry a few times. We know each other from FC Bayern, we know each other well and of course these conversations are private,” said Dier. “But my intention is clear. I want to go back to the English national team’s squad. I have the feeling that I have played the best football of my career in the past two years. I feel very comfortable with my game.”

After Tuchel’s farewell from Munich in the summer of 2024, Kompany hired on Säbener Straße. Dier also played an important role under the Belgian and was used in 28 games.
