The facts came to light last summer. Wonderwijs, which offers education to vulnerable children with learning and development difficulties, was told mid-August that there were complaints of cross-border behavior of one of its employees.

“That would be about cross -border behavior towards the children of the school,” they say at the Karel de Goede school group. “The board took its responsibility and immediately suspended the man with urgency.”

The suspect turns out to be a 55 -year -old man. “This led the employee concerned to be preventively suspended in urgency,” says the school. The man was recently arrested, the council chamber in Bruges extended his arrest by one month this morning. “The staff responds defeated, because there were a lot of staff who worked very closely with that man.”
