Ellemieke Vermolen is beginning to seriously doubt Sonja Bakker’s so-called ‘waste method’ now that more and more cases of plagiarism are emerging. “Is it really still her method?”

Sonja Bakker is now so often in the news with plagiarism scandals that the Dikke Van Dale is reportedly considering adjusting the definition of ‘sonja baker’. It is really unbelievable how that woman works, thinks Ellemieke Vermolen. She also writes cookbooks herself and now gives an unvarnished opinion about her colleague.

Ellemieke stunned

Sonja has lost a bit of Ellemieke’s confidence, she says in Shownieuws. “I’m starting to doubt her method a bit now. Is it really her method? (…) You are going to question it.”

If you steal everything together, how much is such a method worth, Ellemieke wonders. “It’s such a shame. You can present a dish, even if it is the same dish, differently so that it also looks different. I just don’t understand why she would copy this.”

Other herbs

Ellemieke herself also writes cookbooks while googling herself, but she does it smarter. “When I look at myself: you are often inspired by other dishes, but you just don’t copy it. That’s just a no go. Then you just make it your own version.”

How does she make her own version of it? “Then you just use a different type of herbs in it or just use a healthier variant or just switch things up a bit differently. That’s why I just don’t understand why she’s doing this.”

bit of this

Ellemieke would never copy literally. “You are going to look for something a little different to do. Then you also scour the internet. Then you do a little bit of that and a little bit of that. From: That’s a nice idea, and that’s a nice idea! But with flavors… I think that starts with yourself. In my book I use my flavors that I really like myself.”

Colleague Bart Ettekoven: “Oh, well, never mind then.”
