It was the moment of shock on Tuesday during training of the German national soccer team: After a duel with his teammate Thomas Müller from FC Bayern, Jamal Musiala suffered a lacerated wound on his right shin and had to stop team training. A mission in the upcoming Nations League game against Hungary on Friday from 8:45 p.m. was at times on the brink. The all-clear was given on Thursday.

After two FC Bayern stars, Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka, left the DFB team early after positive corona tests, Thomas Müller and Jamal Musiala also caused some worry lines on the forehead of national coach Hansi Flick after their training accident on Tuesday .

After the youngster was last taken out of team training and took a one-day break from training on Wednesday, the positive news came on Thursday: Musiala returned to the DFB team’s team training in the morning, initially running with his teammates at the training ground in Frankfurt am Main warm.

According to unanimous media reports, nothing stands in the way of a starting XI against Hungary on Friday evening.

Musiala has played 15 times for Germany so far

The supporters of FC Bayern, who had already feared a longer downtime, should be happy about this. Musiala is probably the most in-form player in the German record champions so far this season and has already contributed four goals in the Bundesliga.

The 19-year-old also wants to play a more important role on the field in the German national team and establish himself as a regular in the DFB team in the long term.

In his international career so far, the native of Stuttgart has made 15 appearances, but only five of them in the starting line-up.
