Record champion Eisbären Berlin took the first step into his eleventh title win. In the first play-off final of the German ice hockey league (DEL), the defending champion in the end clearly won 5: 1 (1: 0, 1: 1, 3: 0) against Altmeister Kölner Haie and took the lead in the best-of-Seven series.
