Eintracht Frankfurt will have to do without Kauã Santos in the coming months. The 22-year-old goalkeeper of the Bundesliga club suffered a cruciate ligament tear in the quarter-final second leg of the Europa League against Tottenham Hotspur (0-1), as the club announced. Also offensive player Mario Götze will be “until further notice” because of a muscle injury in the thigh.

After the end of the European Cup, captain and goalkeeper Kevin Trapp is in front of a comeback. The 34-year-old is to either return to the squad on Sunday (3:30 p.m./Sky) at FC Augsburg or next Saturday against RB Leipzig, as Dino Toppmöller said before the Bundesliga game day.

“He got on easily again and took part in the training on Wednesdays,” said Toppmöller about Trapp and his shin injury. A decision on the time of return is to be made on Saturday after the final training session.

Deputy Santos had partially kept outstanding in the past few weeks, but crazy at 0-1 against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday evening. Now the Brazilian is no longer available to Hesse for a long time.
