Convinced as a test player

Alemannia Aachen has once again entered the transfer market and signed Mehdi Loune (21), who trained at Eintracht Frankfurt. The attacking midfielder has been training with the third division team for the last few weeks as a trial.

Loune received a professional contract with SGE in 2022, but was not used for the Bundesliga team. In the summer he left Eintracht after nine years; for the Frankfurt reserves he contributed eleven goals and 18 assists in 48 appearances. Two cruciate ligament tears put Loune out of action for a long time from June 2023 to October 2024.

“Mehdi is a real street footballer who can give our game a new, unpredictable touch. He not only has a strong character, but also an excellent footballing education from his time at Eintracht Frankfurt. In the last few weeks we have gotten to know him intensively – both athletically and personally – and are sure that he is a real asset for us. We are happy to have him with us now,” said sports director Rachid Azzouzi.

Loune added: “I’m very happy that I was able to convince those in charge of me. In the last few weeks I’ve already gotten to know the team and the coaching staff and was able to take the field for the first time in the friendly against VfL Bochum. Now it’s time for me to continue to give everything I can to help the team in the best possible way and hopefully be able to play in a competitive game soon.” The Aachen team is in relegation place 17 after ten match days.
