Midfielder Aymen Barkok is apparently facing a change within the Bundesliga.
The Moroccan international, whose contract with Eintracht Frankfurt expires in the summer and will not be extended, will join local rivals FSV Mainz 05, according to “Sport1”. There he should sign a “long-term” contract.
The 23-year-old Barkok, who is currently at the Africa Cup of Nations, has only been used in six competitive games this season under coach Oliver Glasner. Barkok comes from the Frankfurt youth and was already on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf from 2018 to 2020.
