Special campaign for World AIDS Day: The Eintracht Braunschweig Foundation is collecting donations at the upcoming home game – and hopes for a large participation from the fans.
Around the home game of Eintracht Braunschweig against the 1. FC Kaiserslautern Donations will be collected for the Braunschweig Aids-Hilfe on Saturday. The occasion is World AIDS Day, which is celebrated on December 1st.
At the entrances and on the forecourt of the Eintracht Stadium, volunteers distribute the well-known red ribbons and solidarity teddy bears. Fans can receive the symbols for a donation. In addition, the deposit cup donations from the supporters on this match day will go to the AIDS charity.
“We have been supporting the Braunschweiger Aids-Hilfe for many years and want to support it again this year as part of an Eintracht home game. We hope that as many Eintracht fans as possible will take part,” says André Linder, managing director of the Eintracht Braunschweig Foundation.
The Braunschweiger Aids-Hilfe has been a central point of contact for HIV, AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections for 40 years. It looks after around 120 affected people, promotes self-help groups and offers testing for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis C.
This year, World AIDS Day’s motto is “Together. Right Now!”. This is intended to send a signal against exclusion and discrimination. The action at the stadium is intended to show that people with HIV need solidarity – especially in times when the social climate is becoming harsher.
