Definitely a deserved defeat. I thought we didn’t do a good job with the ball at all. We weren’t brave enough. We weren’t active enough. We didn’t give ourselves enough options. We weren’t physically up to speed against the ball. It was actually clear what kind of game it would be. It was clear that it wasn’t going to be a game like against PSG or Chelsea, where it’s a lot about playing football, but we were already aware that it’s a lot about fighting. Lots of long balls. So of course he sharpens every ball when it gets a goal kick, a free kick, a throw-in, a corner. They do everything sharply, play everything into the box, of course love their standard situations and go all in on them. And we allowed too much, allowed too many set pieces and then at some point it becomes difficult to defend them all.
If you watch the whole game, Arsenal deserved to win, always feels like shit when you lose. And we now have to draw the right conclusions from this in order to simply take a step in the right direction in the future.
I think the main problem today was the number of corners we allowed. And as I say, the whole game is for them. STANDARD So a pass, play a goal kick in advance. Kick a free kick from your own half in advance, try to shoot in the front. Every throw-in is thrown in at the front and then you have a lot of actions that you have to defend. They had far too many corners and we gave away far too much. And then? Then it just becomes dangerous. Especially against a team that simply lives for it. You have to say that when you look at our program now, you have five games and there were already three decent opponents. With Chelsea, Paris and Arsenal. Of course that hurts us. I still think it was a very important game for us. Of course we didn’t want to lose today. Nevertheless, I think we will take a lot with us. And not much has happened in the table now. So especially if we do our homework now. In the remaining three games there are still, yes, then we will go through confidently. It’s all in your own hands. We have each other more.
Made.
And would have liked to win here too. But you have to accept that. I think Arsenal simply deserved the duel, especially in the second half, won against us and accordingly the three points remain here.
