The Edmonton Oilers have signed a young forward: William Nicholl has signed a three-year, entry-level contract that will come into effect with the 2026/27 season.
The Canadian franchise announced this move on Wednesday. Edmonton had already selected the 19-year-old 196th in the 2024 NHL draft.
This season, the Canadian was on the ice in 32 regular season games for the London Knights in the OHL. The youngster collected 26 scorer points (15 goals, 11 assists).
Nicholl, who can be used flexibly as a center and left wing, has made a total of 168 appearances for the Knights in four seasons, scoring 105 points (43 goals, 62 assists). Especially in the last two seasons, the man from Ottawa attracted positive attention with his greatly improved performances.
