After Ed Sheeran has repeatedly shared information about a new album on his Instagram account with his fans for weeks, it is now clear that the attached plate is actually finished. Here are all information at a glance.

Ed Sheeran is excited

On March 19, the musician posted a video on Instagram in which he can be seen in the studio together with his producer Ilya Salmanzadeh. The so far unpublished song “Azizam” is running. The Brit wrote in the Caption to the post: “Album finished. Single soon. I am very excited how you can see.” You can really understand it, because Ed Sheeran sings and dances through the studio for his new track.

The word “Azizam” comes from Persian and in German means something like “sweetheart” or “darling”. Sheeran sings in the Song-Snippet: “Azizam / Meet Me On The Floor Tonight / Show Me How to Move Like The Water / In Between the Dancing Lights / Be My, Be My Azizam.” In German this means roughly: “Azizam / meet me tonight on the dance floor / show me how to move like the water / between the dancing lights / be my, be my azizam.”

A few days ago, the 34-year-old already performed the song live, at a pop-up show in New Orleans. The gig is part of a number of surprise concerts that the artist currently plays in the United States. Look here:

Is Play the title of the new album?

Lately, the musician has repeatedly fed his fans with clues to new music. For example, he already changed his profile picture on Instagram last month and indicated that his new album could be called Play.

Since his debut album Plus (+) in 2011, Ed Sheeran has published five LPs with mathematical symbols: Multiply (X) (2014), Divide (รท) (2017), Equals (=) (2021) and subtract () (2023). So far, the title choice has not only had recognition value, but is also said to have reflected different phases of his life. In 2023, Autumn Variations appeared, with which he finally said goodbye to the “Mathematics-A-A-A-Afar”.
