Easy Lions win, Bevo loses again | 1Limburg

Kembit-Lions booked a simple victory in the HandbalNL League on Saturday evening. The team from Sittard-Geleen won 37-26 on a visit to Quintus. Herpertz/Bevo from Panningen went down for the second week in a row, this time at KRAS/Volendam: 31-40.

The defeat puts Bevo at a greater disadvantage in the standings.

Difference
Lions wanted to take revenge in Kwintsheul for the defeat against Volendam last week. Christoph Jauernik’s team was sharp from the start of the match and managed to quickly create a gap at 2-2 by scoring five goals in a row. Lions then managed to maintain the difference and gradually expand. At halftime, a score of 11-18 was on the scoreboard in South Holland.

Comforting
In the second half, that wide lead was not in danger. Lions came out of the dressing room well and had increased the difference to ten goals within six minutes. With that reassuring difference, Lions played out the game in a professional manner. Jauernik’s team eventually won 37-26.

Strong opponent
Bevo met a strong opponent with Volendam. The North Holland formation was in second place before the game. Those places give the right to play matches for the national title at the end of the season. Bevo started the game well and took a 1-4 lead in Volendam after five minutes. The North Hollanders then quickly fought their way back into the game. It then went on for a long time, but Volendam managed to go into the changing rooms with a 21-16 lead due to an offensive just before half-time.

Behind the facts
Bevo was also behind the times at the start of the second half. Six minutes after the break, the team of interim coach Danny van Katwijk was already nine points behind. It turned out to be the decisive difference in the match. In the end, the team from Panningen lost 40-31.

position
In the standings, Volendam and Aalsmeer are together at the top with ten points. Lions are three points behind with seven points. Bevo is fourth with six points. There are still four rounds to play.
