Dutchman held hostage for more than a day, including in Roeselare

Ransom demands were made and violence threatened. The victim was held for a total of 30 hours at various locations, both in Roeselare and Ostend. Thanks to a thorough police investigation by the FGP and good cooperation with the Dutch police, the victim could be located quickly.

The victim was freed and taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries. His life was never in danger, but he did show several bruises.

Three perpetrators were immediately arrested. After house searches at the indicated addresses, another three suspects were arrested. The suspects were all brought before the investigating judge and arrested.
