Dutch singing duo Nick & Simon stops after 17 years | Music

Nick Schilder and Simon Keizer will stop as a musical duo from the spring of 2023 after a period of seventeen years. In this way, there is room for “individual creativity” and “long-cherished solo aspirations” that the singers have, the management has announced to the Dutch news agency ANP. However, the two continue to work together for TV programs they make.

Lately there have been rumors that Nick & Simon would have grown apart and that each wanted to go his own way. At the beginning of August it was confirmed that there were “solo plans”, but this was not elaborated further. On Monday, the singers will give a one-time text and explanation about their decision to stop as a duo in Eva Jinek’s talk show on the Dutch channel RTL 4. They also tell more about the solo plans they have.

Before Nick & Simon finally stop, they will give a number of farewell concerts next year under the name Nu Of Ever. In March they will perform in Zwolle, Alkmaar and Hengelo. The very last concert will take place on April 10. Then there is a big farewell concert in Rotterdam Ahoy on the program where the singers will conclude their career as a musical duo. Ticket sales for this start Friday. In addition, a compilation CD will be released in early November with all the hit singles of the two over the years.

Nick & Simon released their first singles and album in 2006 as a duo. The people from Volendam are known for their songs ‘Kijk Omhoog’, ‘Pak Maar M’n Hand’ and ‘Rosanne’. They also regularly appear in television programs and have been part of the supergroup The Streamers since 2021. With that, they will perform in September in the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam.
