Recharge has grown fast in recent years and calls himself the largest player in the European digital prepaid market. The company had the ambition to grow into a turnover of 1 billion euros in 2025, after having achieved a growth of 30 percent in 2024.
Prepaid market
The prepaid market is large worldwide but still largely offline. ReCharge positions itself as a challenger by making that market digital. Digital prepaid cards focus on users who want to keep their expenses tight. From young people with their calling credit or game expenditure to families who manage their monthly budget. Apple and Google, among others, are among the partners for whom Recharge Prepaid products distributes in Europe.

To strengthen his position, Recharge has been on the takeover path itself in recent years. At the end of 2023, the Startselect bought from Eindhoven, a specialist in gaming credits. At the beginning of this year, it raised 45 million euros from ABN AMRO to make acquisitions and to expand internationally to the United States, among others.
New Chapter
“Recharge brings a strong consumer machine, trusted brands and a talented team. Now that we are part of CODA, we can bring that to a real global stage,” says CEO Günther Vogelpoel. “Closing this deal marks the start of an exciting new chapter.”

The merging with CODA, which has close ties with game publishers such as Electronic Arts and Riot Games, yields a company that serves more than 200 million customers in 180 countries worldwide. In 2024, the two parties processed 1.75 billion dollars in transactions.
