It was very close to ending fatally for a 51-year-old chief inspector of the Haspengouw police zone on Saturday night. During a police check in Borgloon, Limburg, a Renault Megane crashed into two stationary vehicles while the inspector was checking them. The 41-year-old driver, with a blood alcohol level of 2.6, catapulted the officer several meters away during the collision. “He was incredibly lucky.”
