The convicted drug dealer Edin G. from Breda was again arrested in Dubai. The Netherlands has asked for the extradition of the drug dealer. The Dutch-Bosnic top criminal is suspected of being part of an international drug cartel. He was already arrested in Dubai in November 2022, together with dozens of other suspects.

In February, Edin G. was arrested at the request of the Netherlands, a spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service confirms after reporting by Crimesite. He still has to serve a seven -year prison sentence.

At the end of 2023, the court imposed him in prison for seven years and a fine of 1 million euros for the introduction of large parties of cocaine and raw materials for the production of methamphetamine.

In April last year, 23 gang members were arrested from the criminal group of the Breda drug dealer. That happened during a large -scale action in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The drug dealer himself was already arrested at the end of 2022 in Dubai during a major international action, with the name Operation Desert Light. In addition, 49 suspects were arrested in six countries.

According to Europol, they formed a ‘super cartel’ that would be responsible for almost a third of the cocaine trade in Europe. Not much later, G. was released again for unclear reasons.

‘Productive drug dealer’
In March 2023, G. was put on a sanction list by the US Department of Finance. According to the Americans, he is one of the most productive drug dealers in the world. He would lead the ‘Tito and Dino-Kartel’ that would have ties with the Irish criminal Kinahan family

Since 1 August 2023, the Netherlands has tolerated the United Arab Emirates for mutual legal aid in criminal cases and extradition. Based on that, at the end of July last year, Faissal Taghi, the son of Ridouan Taghi, who is stuck in Vught, was extradited by the VAE.
