In Bischofshofen all eyes were on an exciting finale for the tour victory. But then a drone caused a strange moment.

A technical glitch caused a stir at the final of the 73rd Four Hills Tournament. A drone that is supposed to accompany the ski jumpers in the air suddenly found itself in the run-out of the Paul-Außerleitner-Schanze in Bischofshofen. A helper went into the run and collected the crashed drone.

An interruption that would have been caused by the drone was not so significant in this case, as the jumping had to be paused anyway due to the wind conditions. This left enough time to recover the drone.

The incident brought back memories of an incident in alpine ski racing when Marcel Hirscher was almost hit by a fallen drone during a slalom in Madonna di Campiglio in 2015.
