Driver under the influence ignores red flashing lights on railway crossing

An anonymous police car from the Midow police zone was at the level crossing in Izegemstraat in Ingelmunster when the red lights flashed and the bell rang. The officers saw how a car crossed the level crossing at high speed, while the barriers went down.

Saliva test for drugs

The police patrol went after the car and was able to stop the vehicle in the Ketenstraat. The driver stated that he had not noticed the signal. When the officers wanted to do a drug test, the man initially refused “because he had smoked a few joints at home on Sunday”.

In the end, the police were able to convince him to do a saliva test after all. And it drew positively on the use of cannabis. The man’s driver’s license has been revoked for 15 days.
