A motorist crashed his car on the Gilzeweg between Bavel and Molenschot on Sunday morning. The driver lost control of the wheel around 6:30 am and the car rammed into a tree next to the road. The car then rolled down the embankment and came to rest on its side.
When emergency services arrived, the driver was gone. But when the emergency services went looking for those involved, they saw two people a few hundred meters from the scene of the accident.
Laughing gas bottles
One of the two was so injured that he had to be taken to a hospital in an ambulance.
Nitrous oxide bottles were found in the crashed car. The police are investigating.
