Fishmonger Chriff and his student son Amin (24) died in a fire in Anderlecht: “We hoped that they had gotten out of the warehouse, but we didn’t get any sign”

Mohamed Cherif Bakkali and his 24-year-old son Amin are among the victims of the devastating fire that ripped through a warehouse in Anderlecht last weekend. The fishmonger and his student son were sorting a shipment of fish when the fire broke out. “We have called all hospitals, hoping that they would be sheltered or cared for somewhere, but to no avail,” the family testifies. In the meantime, the emergency services are continuing the search operations: there may be more victims under the rubble.
