The running event in Espoo needed a medical helicopter.

On Saturday, the Espoo Beach Marathon needed a medical helicopter.

Based on a video sent to Iltalehti by the reader, the helicopter landed at the Marathon goal area, the Otaniemi Sports Park in Espoo.

– There was a helicopter here to help and take action. I don’t know anything about the follow -up, the event manager of the Espoo Beach Marathon Harri Lammi tells Iltalehti.

According to Lammi, one runner needed help after finishing. The event manager will not be able to assess the situation in more detail because he is not a health care professional.

The runner got help quickly as first aid was available at the marathon event.

– The local rescue service then made its own share.

The Espoo Beach Marathon recorded its participant record. Almost 8,000 runners attended the event.

In addition to the marathon, Espoo competed in a half marathon, a minimal marathon for children, 10 kilometers and five kilometers.
