Drama in the last group game: DFB-U19 in the European Championship semi-final
06/20/2025 – 9:32 p.m.Reading time: 1 min.

The German team struggles against Norway for a long time. The events then roll over in the final phase.
Only shortly before the end, the German U19 team turned the game-and is now in the semi-finals of the European Championship. The team of coach Hanno Balitsch prevailed 2-1 (0-0) against Norway in Voluntari and ended Group B with four points behind the Netherlands (9). Spain is waiting in the preliminary round on Monday.
The DFB team struggled for a long time, but then showed a strong reaction. Norway took the lead in the 72nd minute through Sondre Granaas. Only in the final phase did a remarkable shot from Assan Ouedraogo (85th) bring the equalization. In added time, Said El Mala (90.+1) scored 2-1 – after a serious mistake by the Norwegian goalkeeper.
The starting point was clear: only one victory would have secured the move into the semi -finals. After the 0: 3 defeat against the Netherlands and the spectacular 5: 5 against England, a success against Norway was needed. But the German team acted too passively over long distances. Only the gap let the Balitsch team wake up-and at the end cheer.
