With a double strike, Eintracht Braunschweig mercilessly uncovered the weakness of defense and scored the second win of the season. The Lower Saxony turned a Fürth lead after a good half hour. The guests managed to equalize late. But a penalty decided the game 3: 2 (2: 1) in favor of Braunschweig.

Felix Klaus had shot the Fürther in front after 16 minutes. The hit was checked by the Var for minutes due to possible offside positions. When the guests lost the concentration after half an hour, Lukas Frenkert first equalized (32nd), then Erencan Yardimci put on an Eintracht lead (35th). When the Lower Saxony dreamed of the new season from the dream start, Felix Higl seemed to save the Fürthers a point late. But a transformed penalty of Sebastian Polter had Braunschweig cheered (90. +5).

Ripped beginning

In the initial phase characterized by many small fouls and nicknities, Fürth showed the better game systems as a whole. There were no real chances in the first 15 minutes – but then Fürth immediately used his first option. Noel Futkeu and Felix Klaus Halbrechts appeared in front of the Braunschweig penalty area. Klaus left the ball and organized himself to the center. Futkeu played on the right to the baseline and fit inwards. The harmony was not a solution and had Klaus pulled out of eight meters-Ron-Thorben Hoffmann had no chance.

Braunschweig strikes twice

‘What Fürth can do,’ also thought the hosts thought. After the first corner, the defense of the clover leaves was far too passive, while the defenders of the Braunschweig were wide awake. Louis Breunig fit from the left without Fürth fault in the middle, where Frenkert was able to insert freely and unexpectedly from a short distance to compensate. Both teams had celebrated success at the beginning of the season, but each allowed a myriad of opposing opportunities: Braunschweig in Magdeburg 19, Fürth against Dresden even 21.

Duel Fürth and Braunschweig

But that’s not all: after a Fürth corner, the following tee landed at Yardimci, who played quickly from midfield to the left on Christian Conteh. Conteh let Maximilian Dietz get out and put across the middle of the storm partner Yardimci. Again, Fürth’s defense did far too little defense work and caught the next goal. In the seven -minute added time, Sven Köhler missed the opposing goal for the Fürther for the Fürther for the Fürther.

Fürth standards fizzle out ineffectively

The guests from Middle Franconia showed the better approaches over the entire game: Futkeu and Green were very attentive in midfield and lurked on ball gains. The home side, who played with funeral flora because of the recent death of club legend Peter Kaack, managed not to allow any great goal opportunities. The Fürther had won 9: 1 corners up to the 66th minute – but it did not result in a single goal from these standards.

Bjarnason checks Hoffmann

The second phase of the game, which both Braunschweig’s coach Heiner Backhaus and his Fürther approached Thomas Kleine with unchanged teams, began with a tight shot and a brilliant parade: Fürth’s defender Brynjar Bjarnason tried a long -distance shot, Max Marie fell and forced his keeper Hoffmann to a brilliant parade.

That Futkeu ensured the footballing delicacies of the game: In a counterattack in the 72nd minute, the center forward prevailed very skillfully against Frenkert and tried it against the Hoffmann, hurried to help, with a kick with his hoe: the ball stroke past the left post.

Higl hits head

But then Fürth cheered: the substitute Dennis Srbeny had a little too much space on the right wing and found the starting Felix Higl, who kept the upper hand in the air duel with Frederik Jäkel and headed from ten meters unsustainable for Ron-Thorben Hoffmann in the left upper corner.

When Sebstian Polter converted a penalty time in added time, the Eintracht Stadium stood head.
