Angela was completely in shape: her throat was cleared, the sponsored earrings were hanging and the damning opinion about Rutte in VI was on her tongue. After an hour it was over: a new episode of the AD Media podcast was about to be fired at the audience and the trembling stars in Hilversum.
And then? Then everything turned out to be for nothing. Due to a technical error, it turned out that Angela’s opinion circus was not recorded at all. Nothing. Very bummed of course, but Angela and her colleagues decided to put their best foot forward and to serve everything up one more time. Alright, another episode. Or not?

No! Failed again! What kind of fumbling is this from recording director Manuel Venderbos? He clarifies on Instagram. “For the podcast nerds among us: it seems to be the connection between the laptop and the device. That is a kind of Russian roulette, it can go well and it can go wrong.”
If you are a TV presenter and also have a hobby as a podcast maker, then the second is more likely. “What is exceptional: I have been doing this for 3.5 years in this way and I have never experienced this… And now twice in a row. I think I’ll go to the casino tonight. Or whine. 🫤”
Not a third time
Angela and her colleagues didn’t feel like trying it a third time, probably feeling bad about wasting so much time and energy. That’s why there is no episode of the AD Media podcast this week. “Something went wrong with the audio during the recording of the podcast,” reads the official statement.
“After checking that seemed to have been resolved and the panel then recorded a new podcast, with the same (unsatisfactory) result. That’s why unfortunately no podcast this week… 😐😐😐 Our apologies!”
