The tennis player, for his part, expressed his joy at “being recognized in the Balearic Islands”, because the tribute in one’s own land”always has a special meaning”. “It’s been a difficult year & rdquor;he specified in relation to the chronic injury he suffers and that is marking his career.

Also, today it became known that Nadal has been distinguished with the Grand Cross of Naval Merit with a white badge for being an example of self-improvement and sacrifice and representing the values of the Armed Forces: integrity, loyalty, discipline, courage, responsibility and sense of duty. The Council of Ministers, at the proposal of the Defense Minister, Margarita Robles, agreed to award this decoration to Nadal.
The only civilian decorated with this honor besides Rafa is the director of the Diplomatic School, Alberto Anton Cortes.
