Camilla Herrem celebrated one title after another as a national player Norway. Now the 38-year-old has to struggle with a bad news.

The handball player Camilla Herrem suffers from breast cancer. The Norwegian made this public in an Instagram video. A knot in the chest was discovered three weeks ago. “It was about the size of a pea,” said the 38-year-old. “I thought that I should have it examined.”

She had ultrasound and mammography made, a call followed a short time later. Mr. should come to the hospital. There she was diagnosed with breast cancer. “It was a total shock. And it’s still a shock. I can’t believe it,” said the emotionally hit gentleman in the video. “I have to prepare that my hair will be out. For me, it’s about thinking positively, being strong and using the good people around me.” Chemotherapy begins this week.

Her former teammate Silje Solberg feels with her, told the broadcaster NRK: “Camilla is one of the strongest people I know, and luckily she has many good people around her. I send her and her family many warm thoughts in this difficult time.”

Men will now be longer, possibly the cancer forces the 38-year-old to end the career. She is currently playing at her home club Sola HK. In her career, Mr. played more than 330 caps for Norway, threw more than 950 goals.

With Norway she won twice gold, won three World Cup titles and became European champion nine times. In addition to World Cup silver 2017 and 2023, she also won bronze at the 2009 handball World Cup and at two Olympic Games (2016, 2020).
