Not his first suspension
Positive doping test: Darts professional excluded from World Cup

For Dom Taylor, the Darts World Cup is over despite the opening victory and he was suspended. This is not the Englishman’s first suspension due to a positive test result.
Dom Taylor has been excluded from the World Darts Championships in London. The English professional was suspended with immediate effect after a positive doping test. The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) announced this on Friday.
According to the release, the DRA was informed on December 19 of the result of a test that had been conducted five days earlier. At that point, Taylor had won 3-0 against Sweden’s Oskar Lukasiak in the first round of the World Cup.
As a result of the positive test, the 27-year-old has been excluded from all events under the panel’s supervision “in accordance with relevant DRA procedures.” The matter will now be pursued as part of disciplinary proceedings. It is not yet known which substance was detected. PDC and DRA also did not provide any further information.
Taylor, currently ranked 65th in the world, has not been banned for the first time. He had already been suspended last year because of a positive test and, among other things, missed the World Cup as a result.
After his opening win against Lukasiak, Taylor said: “It was the biggest disappointment of my life.” Now the tournament has ended early again for him. His planned second round opponent Jonny Clayton advances to the third round without a fight.
