RTL 4 benefits fully from the success of B&B Vol Liefde and Winter Vol Liefde, but overkill is always lurking. According to Jordi Versteegden, the program is bordering on the irritation limit.

It feels like B&B Vol Liefde has only just ended, but now RTL 4 is already in the middle of the latest Winter Vol Liefde series. It all flows together. And now you no longer know whether the candidates participate to find love or because they simply hope, like Monique Hansler, for a lucrative soap series on SBS 6.

Weak point

Story boss Guido den Aantrekker strongly distrusts it. “Aren’t these people just participating to become known? Isn’t it almost impossible to avoid that?” he says. Show news.

Telegraaf reporter Jordi Versteegden then: “I also feel that way when I see this. I think that is a bit of the weak point of all those series of Winter Vol Liefde and B&B Vol Liefde.”

‘Everything looks the same’

Jordi thinks it’s getting boring. “Especially in the winter, everything seems so similar, so when I watch this season now, I have the feeling that I’m watching last year’s season, you know? It’s all so similar that I think: there’s a bit of overkill starting to occur. Add to that: the length of the program.”

He continues: “One hour and ten minutes! You watch that three times a week. Yes, I just notice that I start making cups of coffee and that at a certain point I really think: yes, I’m a bit done with it.”

Something different

When someone at the desk comments that you always have to sit through the first five episodes of Winter Vol Liefde to form a bond with the candidates, Jordi answers: “You’re right about that. Maybe we have also become a bit spoiled, especially because of the previous season with Mike and Monique. You don’t get something like that so easily anymore.”

“You notice that there is a bit of typecasting going on. I see people again this season and I think: ah, they are sticking to types from the previous season one by one. Yes, that’s just starting to itch a bit.”
