Iwema participated in the TT every year between 2007 and 2015. Until 2014 in the 125cc and later Moto3, in 2015 he competed in the Moto2 class. Two years ago the ‘Haoler’ showed itself in the MotoE class.
In the TT week, Lennips has the live stream of A Year Of Your Life closely monitored. Despite the ban on contact with the outside world, Lennips thinks he can see that Iwema is busy with the Asser race week. “He was busy with a big placard with the letters TT. Maybe for a nice party with fellow residents. I’m sure he hasn’t forgotten the date for next weekend.”
The closing word is also for Lennips: must Iwema A Year Of Your Life left to pass the TT anyway? “They’ve been on the road for ten months now and still have two months to go. He certainly shouldn’t leave, because he’s on my list of winners. I think Jasper is very strong, both physically and mentally. This year he has to take on the TT “He can’t let the money go by. This is a one-off, next year there will be another TT.”
