Doctor (40) partially paralyzed by incorrectly performed epidural anaesthetic: anesthetist and hospital deploy private investigators to avert guilt | Popular in HLN+ Nearby

AntwerpAfter seven years of litigation, an Antwerp judge ruled in favor of a 40-year-old woman. During her delivery, she was partially paralyzed in her right leg due to an incorrectly performed epidural anaesthetic. The anesthetist and her employer, hospital group ZNA, did everything they could to avert the blame. They even had the woman shadowed by private investigators. The victim, who is a doctor himself, will receive provisional compensation of almost 1 million euros.
