FC Arsenal’s long -standing success coach comments on a sentence by Jürgen Klopp – and becomes clear.
Arsène Wenger shows no understanding of the sharp words from Jürgen Klopp to the club World Cup. The FIFA director made it clear: “Everyone has the right to have their own opinion, but I don’t share Jürgen Klopp’s view at all”. The Liverpool coach had described the tournament in the USA in the “Welt am Sonntag” as “the worst idea that was ever implemented in football”.
Wenger, formerly long -time coach of FC Arsenal, represents a completely opposite position. “I think the club World Cup is necessary,” said Wenger. “If you interviewed all the clubs who were there, 100 percent of the answers would be that they would do it again,” said the 75-year-old. The crucial question is whether the fans liked the tournament or not. “We believe that the number of spectators has been forecast and were actually much higher. The answer is obvious”
The Frenchman also commented on the weather conditions. The great heat was a problem in some games, said Wenger. They tried to counteract with cooling breaks and the watering of the playing areas in the halftime. For the upcoming World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada, important insights can be gained.
